Sipos’ Bakery, June 1st: Sipos’ Bakery closed its doors on June 4^th after 50 years of its legacy within our community that grew beyond its sweet treats. They represent tradition, heritage, and authenticity among us. Thank you, Sipos’for your contribution to our community and your deep-rooted commitment to serving our families.

June 3 – Walk to Remember for Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month

The alzheimers walk was heartfelt and inspiring. We want to express our deepest gratitufe to the Lopez and Rivera Families for bavely sharing their story about their beloved Jovita. Your courage and strength touched our hearts. We also want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to support one another and our community. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s and brain-related conditions through our outpour of empathy. We would like to recognize and appreciate the partnership between the Perth Amboy Free Public Library Board of Trustees and the City of Perth Amboy. Thank you for the collaboration and ongoing support. Additionally, we want to give a special shout-out to our amazing sponsors: Raritan Bay Area YMCA, Alameda Center for Rehabilitation & health care, Hackensack Meridican Health, and Spring Creek Healthcare Center. You helped create a memorable program. Thank you to our Senator Joe Vitale for always showing support in attending our events.

June 7^h – Portuguese Flag Raising

Shoutout to Maria E. Costa, President of the Portuguese Heritage Group of Perth Amboy!

Thank you and the Portuguese Sporting Club for hosting the flag-raising ceremony on Wednesday, June 7^th. Thid flag-raising ceremony was a powerful symbol of pride, bringing people from all walks of life together to honor the rich Portuguese history in Perth Amboy.

Your leadership and commitment to preserving and promoting the Portuguese heritage are inspiring and strengthen the bonds between different generations and ensured that the traditions and customs of the Portuguese community continue to thrive.

What an incredible day it was at the “Celebrate Middlesex County” event on Saturday, June 10^th at Roosevelt Park! I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to Commissioner Director Ron Rios, the esteemed commissioners, and the exceptional Middlesex County staff for hosting this celebration that truly showcased the abundance our county has to offer.

From the cultural performances to the interactive exhibits, Celebrate Middlesex County has reminded us of the countless reasons we are proud to call Middlesex County home.

Let’s continue working together, building a brighter future for all who call Middlesex County home.

We are thrilled to announce the success of the Soccer Clinic hosted by NJLATS in collaboration with the Perth Amboy Police Department and Department of Recreation on Saturday, June 10^th.

The event brought together passionate soccer enthusiasts, dedicated officers, and enthusiastic children from our community to empower youth through sports and foster a stronger, safer community, Here’s a recap of the fantastic day!

June 13^th – Infrastructure Investment Tour: $7M in Stormwater Assistance Grants

A sincere thank you to Commissioner LaTourette for hosting the news conference in Perth Amboy on June 13^th on the announcement of the Stormwater Assistance Grants as part of the Murphy Administration’s Infrastructure Investment Tour.

This initiative aims to raise public awareness about the urgent need for focused investments in water infrastructure projects. By doing so, we can effectively reduce flooding threats, create employment opportunities, safeguard public health, and improve the overall well-being of our state’s waterways.

Perth Amboy’s selection as a recipient of the $438,512 grant is a testament to the city’s commitment to environmental sustainability and resilience. This grant award represents a quarter of our city’s 3 million dollar Longterm Control Plan, highlighting its significant impact on Perh Amboy’s long-term sustainability. These fund will be instrumental in implementing six remarkable green infrastructure projects specially designed to mitigate the combines sewer syste overflows plaguing our city.

Together, let us continue working towards a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for Perth Amboy and beyond.

Un sincere agradecimiento al Comisionado LaTourette por organizer la conferncia de prensa en Perth Amboty el 13 de junio sobre el anuncio de las Subvenciones de Asistencia para Aguas Pluviales como parte de la Girade Inversion en Infraestructura de la Administracion Murphy. Esta iniciativa tiene como objetivo aumenar la conciencia publica sobre la necesidad urgente de inversions enfocadas en poryectos de infraestructura de agua. Al hacerlo, pdemos reducer efectivamente las amenazas de inundaciones, crear oprtunidades de empleo, salvaguardar la salud publica y mejorar el bienestar general de las vias fluviales de nuestro estado. La seleccion de Perth Amboy como receptora de la subvencion de $438512 es un testimonioj del compromise de la ciudad ccon la sostenibilidad y la resiliencia ambientales. Esta subvencion representa una cuarta parte del Plandel Control a Largo Plazo de 3 millones de dolares de nuestra ciudad, lo que destaca su impacto significativo en la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de Perth Amboy. On Saturday, June 17^th, we came together for an event that prioritizes children’s well-being, providing access to healthcare, education, and a nurturing environment. Together, we’re shaping a brighter tomorrow!

Perth Amboy unites in empowerment as we commemorate Juneteenth! Monday, June 19^th we spent a remarkable afternoon in collaboration with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and NAACP Perth Amboy Branch. Our community celebrates in the spirit of freedom. Justice, and equality. Together, we honor our shared history, embrace our cultural heritage, and pave the way for a future rooted in unity. The afternoon was filled with music, celebration, and unity at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Followed by a moving flag-raising ceremony at City Circle.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this remarkable celebration of Juneteenth. Together, we honored our history, celebrated our progress, and embraced the spirit of unity. Let the melodies and messages from this evening continue!

This FREE Bike-Share Program was made possible through the Perth Amboy Business Improvement District and the City of Perth Amboy's Neighborhood Preservation grant funding!

The bikes are located on 300 Front Street right next to the Ferry Slip and will be available after the fireworks program.

June 29^th- Fire Swearing In Ceremony

Thank you to Chief Mullen for hosting a special swearing-in ceremony, honoring the dedicated individuals. We celebrated a momentous occasion filled with great pride and excitement. It is a time to recognize the exceptional achievements of our brave firefighters and the remarkable growth of our Perth Amboy Fire Department.

We proudly promoted seven exceptional individuals to the esteemed rank of Captain and welcome three new firefighters to our distinguished team.
