July 4 – Independence Day:

Celebrating Our Independence!

The July 4th program was a tribute to our nation's heritage! Thanks to John Dyke, City historian, and all who joined us for the reading of the Declaration of Independence and the bell-ringing ceremony.

Together, we embraced the spirit of freedom, unity, and resilience that has defined our great nation for centuries. Let us cherish the values that our founding fathers fought so bravely for.

As we reflect on our history, let's also celebrate our progress and the work that lies ahead. Together, we can shape a brighter future, honoring the principles of equality and justice for all.

Celebrando Nuestra Independecia!

El programa del 4 de julio fue un tribute a la herencia de nuestra nacion! Gracias a JohN Dyke, historadior de la ciudad, y a todos los que nos acompanaron en la lectura de la Declaracion de Independencia y la ceremonia de toque de campana.

Juntos, abrazamos el eespirity de libertad, unidad y resilencia que ha definido a nuestra gran nacion durante siglos. Apreciemos los valores por los que nuestrospadres fundadores lucharon tan valientemente.

July 5^th - Firework Spectacular:

Reflecting on an Unforgettable Evening! Wow! What an incredible night it was on July 5th! We're still buzzing from such an unforgettable festival and breathtaking fireworks show!

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the amazing residents, Celebrate Perth Amboy, Event Sponsors, and the City of Perth Amboy staff who made this event an absolute triumph! Your presence, energy, and enthusiasm truly made it a night to remember.

July 8^th – 5k Color Run Paint the Town Positive:

A vibrant display of happiness and community spirit took over as the City of Perth Amboy and Blessings From Above hosted the 5k Color Run- Paint the Town Positive! Thank you to all the amazing participants who ran together, spreading joy and positivity with every step!

This event serves as a reminder that when we come together, we have the power to transform our city into a beacon of hope and positivity, where ordinary individuals come together to paint the city towards a brighter future.

Una exhibición vibrante de felicidad y espíritu comunitario se hizo cargo cuando la ciudad de Perth Amboy y Blessings From Above organizaron la carrera de colores 5k: ¡Pinta la ciudad positivamente! ¡Gracias a todos los increíbles participantes que corrieron juntos, difundiendo alegría y positividad con cada paso!

Mayor's Concert Series, presented in partnership with the City of Perth Amboy and the Business Improvement District at the Historic Ferry Slip at 300 Front Street.

Kicking off the series on Saturday, July 8th, we have the incredible Orquesta Swing Combo, a sensational salsa band that will have you dancing the night away!

From 7 PM to 9 PM, prepare to be immersed in a captivating blend of English and Spanish music that will get your hips swaying and your feet moving!

Each date promises an unforgettable musical experience featuring talented artists and diverse genres.

Serie de Conciertos del Alcalde, presentada en colaboracion con la Ciudad de Perth Amboy y el Business Improvement District en el historico Ferry Slip en 300 Front Street.

Comenzando la serie el sabado 8 de julio, tenemos la incredible Orquesta Swing Combo, una sensacional banda de salsa que te hara bailar toda la noche!

July 11^th – Raritan Bay Area YMCA Center for Support, Success & Prosperity Grand Opening:

Congratulations to the Raritan Bay Area YMCA Center for Support, Success & Prosperity which proudly announced the grand opening of the Healthier Access Office located at 392 Smith Street, Perth Amboy, NJ on Tuesday, July 11 providing free services by a Licensed Practical Nurse including:
• Glucose, Blood Pressure & BMI Screenings
• Treatment for minor skin lacerations
• Limited pregnancy testing
• Mental health screenings
•Monthly vision and hearing screenings
• COVID and flu clinics for adults and children

No insurance coverage required
Services are available to all regardless of immigration status.

The program is made possible through the Community Resource Development Funding (CRDF) from Coordinated Family Care (CFC) provided by the NJ Department of Children & Families (DCF), and through a partnership with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey.

July 12^th – Brianna Estevez voted player of the year:

Congratulations Brianna Estevez, for being voted player of the year in the North Jersey Section 2 Groups 4 by NJ's Best Softball!

Brianna will be entering her senior year at PAHS and has been playing for the varsity lady Panthers softball team since she was a freshman. Brianna has grown tremendously over the years, adding another stellar attribute to the 2023 softball season.

July 16^th - Summer Concert Series:

As a continuation of the Mayor’s Summer Concert Series, the Alfonso Acosta Flores Quartet, is accompanied by the talented guest artist Luciane Dom, a Janerio-based singer-songwriter. The community came together for an enchanting summer evening!

Como continuancion del Ciclo de Conciertos de Verano de la Alcadia, el Cuarteto Alfonso Aocsta Flores, acompanado por la talentoso artista invitada Luciane Dom, cantautora radicada en Janerio. La comunidad se reunion para una encantadora velada de verano!

July 21^st – Empanadas Monumental:

Congratulations to Empanadas Monumental on the grand opening of their second location at 384 New Brunswick Ave on Friday, July 21st.

Empanada Monumental’s recipe originates from Santiago in the Dominican Republic.
There are a variety of 19 flavors including mixed seafood, pepperoni, Philly cheese steak and lot more, also their most popular dish called "Yaroa", bola de Yuca, Quipes, Capricho, and a large variety of sandwiches and shakes.

July 21^st – Analogo Collective La Linterna Exhibit:

Analogo Collective hosted “La Linterna” exhibit at the Perth Amboy Gallery for the Arts. The night was full of art and music!

July 21^st – Movie Night Under the Stars: Lightyear:

The second Movie Night under the Stars was held Friday July 21^st with the showing of Disney’s “Lightyear”. The night was filled with fun games and activities for all ages!

La segunda Noche de Cine bajo las Estrellas se llevo a cabo el Viernes 21 de julio con la proyeccion de “Lightyear” de Disney. La noche estuvo llena de juegos y actividades divertidas para todas las edades!

July 21^st – Brian Taylor Basketball Camp:

Thank you to Brian Taylor, the Department of Recreation and all involved in making the Brian Taylor Summer Camp a success once again! Today we had a special guest speaker, former NBA player Derrick Caracter.

There was a total of 50 kids from the ages 7 - 14 who participated. Witnessing the passion and skill on the court was truly amazing, Together, we're shaping the future of basketball, one dribble at a time!

¡Gracias a Brian Taylor, al Departamento de Recreación ya todos los involucrados en hacer que el Campamento de Verano de Brian Taylor sea un éxito una vez más! Hoy tuvimos un orador invitado especial, el ex jugador de la NBA Derrick Caracter.

Participaron un total de 50 niños de 7 a 14 años. Ser testigo de la pasión y la habilidad en la cancha fue realmente increíble. ¡Juntos, estamos dando forma al futuro del baloncesto, un regate a la vez!

July 23^rd – El Batey: Live Bomba Music:

Live Bomba Music presented by Los Cimarrones was hosted by PRAHD on Sunday, July 23^rd.on 100 First Street. Celebrating the rich Puerto Rican heritage with captivating rhythms of Bomba music.

July 29^th – Girls in Gear:

Girls in Gear Clinic: Life Skills through Bike Skills

On Saturday, July 29^th the Girls in Gear held a day of fun, learning, and empowerment for all the young girls who participated in the clinic. It was a great opportunity to build confidence, improve bike handling, and learn essential life skills.

Clinica Girls in Gear: habilidades para la vida a traves de habilidades para andar en bicicleta el sabado 29 de julio, Girl in Gear realize un dia de diversion, aprendizaje y empoderamiento para todas las jovenes que paarticiparon en la clinica. Fue una gran oportunidad para generar confianza, mejordar el manejo de la manejo de la bicileta y aprender habilidades esenciales para la vida.

Commemorating 202 years of Peruvian independence! The Peruvian flag soared at International Park on Saturday, July 29^th.
