Elizabethtown Gas is upgrading natural gas infrastructure in Perth Amboy, affecting the following streets: Alpine Street, Amboy Avenue, Boggs Street, Chester Street, Francis Street, Grove Street, Keene Street, Myrtle Street, and Spring Street. 

 

Current update – week of 2/17/26

Work was delayed due to weather and site conditions. The contractor plans to return on 2/17/26 to complete the remaining service renewals and retire the main.

Inclement weather could alter schedule.

Previous phases (for reference):

Main installation – 11/6/24-12/5/24

Service renewals – 1/2/25 – 3/7/25

Main retirement – 3/10/25-3/17/25

Once all work is completed – 90 day settlement period and project will be paved.

This project includes replacing aging gas mains with durable plastic pipe and relocating gas meters from inside homes and businesses to the outside for enhanced safety and reliability.

El trabajo se retrasó debido al clima y las condiciones del sitio. El contratista planea regresar el 2/17/26 para completar las renovaciones de servicio restantes y retirar la tubería principal.
El clima severo puede cambiar el cronograma.
