Perth Amboy Ranked #4 in NJ

More families and businesses are investing here, raising home values and strengthening the local economy.

A $1.5 million grant will bring major improvements to the Perth Amboy Free Public Library, keeping it the heart of our community.

Parks & Recreation

Investing in Parks

Millions are dedicated to new and upgraded parks with greener spaces and more places for families to enjoy.

Housing

Stability for Renters

The City’s Rent Control Ordinance protects residents from sudden, extreme rent increases, helping families stay in their homes.

Transportation

Better Roads and Safer Streets

Ongoing work means smoother streets and fewer potholes. Two new parking lots with over 220 spaces are planned, along with safer pedestrian crossings.

History

Honoring Thomas Mundy Peterson

A new historical marker will be placed at City Hall in Fall 2025 to honor Thomas Mundy Peterson, the first African American man to vote under the 15th Amendment.
