Attention, City Residents:

This is an important public service announcement regarding road closures in our area.

On August 3rd, the City of Perth Amboy experienced road closures due to necessary maintenance and infrastructure improvements. We want to keep you informed to ensure your safety and convenience.

State Street and Hall Avenue Closure:

A single PSE&G maintenance hole near State Street and Hall Avenue experienced an underground power cable failure. This unfortunate incident has caused a road closure in the South of Hall Avenue to Pearl Place. PSE&G teams are on-site, repairing the affected area as quickly as possible. This did cause a temporary power outage in the area, which was resolved soon after the initial incident. For outage information or to report a power outage go to PSEG's Outage Center

Florida Grove Road Closure:

A sewer pumping station issue in Woodbridge also affected our city. The city swiftly worked with our public safety partners from Woodbridge Township to respond to safeguard our residents. As a result, Florida Grove Road had to be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic. The authorities worked diligently and resolved the problem, and we appreciate your understanding during this time. There are still temporary closures related to the road improvement and resurfacing program in the same area today.

New Brunswick Avenue Closure:

As a reminder, the ongoing paving project through Middlesex County continues on New Brunswick Avenue. This is part of essential infrastructure improvements to enhance road safety and convenience. While it may cause temporary inconvenience, the long-term benefits will be well worth it.

We understand that these road closures can be frustrating, but your safety is our top priority.

We ask for your patience and cooperation as we work to resolve these issues and improve our community's infrastructure.

Please stay updated with the city’s website for official announcements of any changes or developments. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
