Free Summer Concerts Return to Perth Amboy

PERTH AMBOY, NJ – The City of Perth Amboy, along with the Perth Amboy Business Improvement Corporation (PABIC), is proud to bring back the Summer Concert Series. These free concerts take place every Thursday night through August 28, offering music, fun, and community at Bayview Park. The series was recently featured in TapInto Raritan Bay.

Each show starts at 6:30 p.m. at Bayview Park, 250 Water Street, except for the final concert, which will be held at the Perth Amboy Amphitheater, 215 Elm Street.

The concerts feature a mix of musical styles, including R&B, disco, ‘80s pop, DJs, and Latin music.

“The Summer Concert Series is a big part of our city’s music program, and we’re proud to bring it back this year,” said Mayor Helmin J. Caba. “Bayview Park continues to serve as a stage for free public concerts like our Summer Concert Series, Salsa by the Bay and Concerts by the Bay, helping bring more people to the area. This series brings activity into the expanded Business Improvement District that include Smith Street, Amboy Avenue, New Brunswick Avenue, and State Street, and shows how important our waterfront is to the community. We’re using public spaces across the city to give people more chances to come together and enjoy Perth Amboy.”

• July 17: Blue Cha Cha Group (R&B)
• July 24: DJ Night: Flyboy Ant & Shade (Live DJ Set)
• July 31: Coast 2 Coast (R&B)
• August 7: Back In Time (80’s Pop Music)
• August 14: Discoteks (Disco/70’s Band)
• August 21: DJ Night: DJ Bojo (Live DJ Set)
• August 28: Orlando Live Performance (Merengue/Bachata)

All concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. at Bayview Park, except for the August 28 finale, which takes place at the amphitheater. Concerts are free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and arrive early to enjoy the evening.

🎺 Concerts By the Bay

Also at Bayview Park is the Concerts By the Bay series, featuring free Garden State Symphonic Band concerts every Sunday through August 3. All shows begin at 3 p.m. and are conducted by Virginia Johnston.

In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be held at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA, 357 New Brunswick Ave. in Perth Amboy.

💃 Salsa by the Bay

On select Fridays, Bayview Park will play host to Salsa by the Bay, free Latin dance nights hosted by Perth Amboy Artworks. Each event begins with a group dance lesson from 5:30–6:30 p.m., followed by live music and social dancing from 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Salsa by the Bay Schedule:

• July 25: Bachata & Merengue lesson by Nancy Ynchaustegui; music by J Moreno La Banda Soberana.
• August 22: Salsa lesson by South Street Salsa (Kevin Toft); music by Swing Combo; Manny Pacheco Award presentation.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food trucks, including Chef Deluxe Me, typically attend the Friday events.
