City of Perth Amboy - Updated Towing Rates

The City of Perth Amboy has updated its towing rates and regulations under Ordinance No. 2152-2024. These updates aim to enhance transparency and fairness regarding towing and storage services.

Towing Rate Schedule

Class I Vehicle (Up to 10,000 lbs. GVW)

• Service Call: $165 flat rate
• During State of Emergency: $200 flat rate
• In Snow Bank: $250 flat rate
• Decoupling Fee: $82.50
• Winching: $50 per ½ hour

Class II Vehicle (10,000 - 16,000 lbs. GVW)

• Service Call: $300 flat rate
• During State of Emergency: $200 flat rate
• In Snow Bank: $250 flat rate
• Decoupling Fee: $150
• Winching: $50 per ½ hour

Class III Vehicle (16,000 - 26,000 lbs. GVW)

• Service Call: $400 flat rate
• During State of Emergency: $200 flat rate
• In Snow Bank: $250 flat rate
• Decoupling Fee: $200
• Winching: $100 per ½ hour

Class IV Vehicle (26,000 - 80,000 lbs. GVW)

• Service Call: $600 flat rate
• During State of Emergency: $200 flat rate
• In Snow Bank: $250 flat rate
• Decoupling Fee: $300
• Winching: $100 per ½ hour

Class V Vehicle (Motorcycles & Two-Wheeled Motorized Vehicles)

• Service Call: $200 flat rate
• During State of Emergency: $200 flat rate
• In Snow Bank: $250 flat rate
• Decoupling Fee: $100
• Winching: $50 per ½ hour

Other Services

• Use of Dolly Wheels: $80 per set of two
• Use of Skates/Go Jacks: $80 per set of two
• Use of Air Jacks: $75
• Use of Dry Absorbents: $50 per 50 lb. bag
• Scene Cleanup (if not towed): $40 per hour

Storage Rates

After the first 12 hours (which are free), storage rates are as follows:

• Outside Storage: $45 per calendar day
• Inside Storage: $55 per calendar day
