IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Welcome to the official Business Registration Portal for the City of Perth Amboy.  The 2026 Business Registration Permit application opens March 23 and closes April 24, 2026.

Under Ordinance 2283-2026, all new and existing businesses operating within city limits must obtain an annual Business Registration Permit.

This requirement applies to all businesses starting or continuing operations, except non-profit status schools, non-profit status religious organizations, home-based businesses, and property owners.

Payments must be made by check or money order payable to the City of Perth Amboy. All applicable fees must be paid no later than (2) days after application submission, by mail or in-person at the Office of Economic and Community Development (OECD), located on the 2nd Floor at 1 Olive Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
