    Water Meter Replacement Program – Final Appointments

    The City of Perth Amboy is completing the final phase of its citywide water meter replacement program. More than 12,600 homes across the city have already upgraded their meters, helping ensure accurate water readings and fair billing.

    If you received a letter or orange door notice regarding your water meter replacement, please schedule your appointment as soon as possible.

    Scheduling Options

    • Residents may schedule by calling (888) 448-0009
    • Residents may also schedule online at nms-mdm.com/guest using the unique reference number and PIN listed on their notice
    • Email scheduling is not available at this time

    Scheduling Line Hours

    The scheduling line is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

    Residents may leave a voicemail if needed. During periods of high call volume, callers will hear their queue position and may press “1” to request a callback without losing their place in line.

    National Metering Services has a dedicated team assigned specifically to Perth Amboy appointments to support efficient scheduling and service.

    Appointment Windows

    • Morning: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    • Afternoon: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

    What Residents Need to Know

    • Installation takes approximately 30 minutes
    • The replacement is provided at no cost to residents
    • Access to your basement or utility room may be required
    • This upgrade helps prevent estimated bills or incorrect readings

    Authorized Contractor

    National Metering Services is the contractor authorized to perform these installations on behalf of the City of Perth Amboy.

    Technicians will arrive in uniform, in marked vehicles, and with photo identification. Residents should ask to see identification before allowing entry.

    Previous Notices

    Notices about this program have been mailed to affected properties since 2024. As the City works to complete the remaining installations, some properties may also receive an orange final notice door hanger.

    Important Reminder

    If an appointment is not scheduled by March 16, 2026, water service may be shut off until the meter replacement appointment is confirmed.
