Perth Amboy Community Mental Health Initiative
About the Initiative
The City of Perth Amboy has been awarded a $12,000 grant through the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute and the Mayors Wellness Campaign to implement a Community Mental Health Initiative. This program aims to reduce mental health stigma, provide resources, and enhance mental health services for underserved populations.
Key Dates
- February 2025 - October 2025: Monthly Mental Health First Aid training sessions on the third Thursday of each month.
Program Details
- Free Mental Health First Aid training sessions, offered monthly and conducted bilingually in English and Spanish.
- Distribution of mental health resources to schools, businesses, and community centers.
- Behavioral health screenings provided confidentially and at little to no cost.
- Robust outreach efforts to engage community members and organizations.

Locations: RBA YMCA, 1 Olive Street Community Center, and Senior Housing Facilities.
