Thomas Mundy Peterson Day

Perth Amboy commemorated the 156th anniversary of Thomas Mundy Peterson's historic vote. On March 31, 1870, Peterson became the first African American to vote following ratification of the 15th Amendment, an important chapter in Perth Amboy's history and the expansion of American democracy.

Residents experienced Revolutionary Perth Amboy through an interactive journey featuring George and Martha Washington and visits to historic sites throughout the City.

Stars & Stripes Drone & Fireworks Festival

A waterfront festival brought residents together for community activities, Perth Amboy's first drone show and a fireworks finale.

Liberty Bell Ringing Ceremony

Independence Day featured colonial demonstrations, music, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence and the ringing of Perth Amboy's Liberty Bell replica.
