Purchasing Department

Welcome to the City of Perth Amboy Purchasing Division. Our goal is to assure uniformity of purchasing procedures while providing the highest quality of goods and services needed by all City Departments in a timely manner at the lowest possible price and in compliance with the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, the Pay to Play Laws and local executive orders. We strive to familiarize vendors with the procedures and responsibilities for purchasing goods and services under the above referenced laws.

We are committed to transparency in this process and maintain the highest standards of expertise in public procurement process.

Member in good standing with the Governmental Purchasing Association of New Jersey.

We are members of the following:
  • Local Coops: Cranford, Middlesex County, Somerset County, Passaic County and ESCNJ
  • National Coops: HGAC, Omnia, Keystone, NCPA and Sourcewell
We also have a Shared Service Agreement for the purchase of gasoline & diesel as well as rock salt with the Perth Amboy Board of Education.
